Who Do You Say That I Am?

Who has ascended into heaven and descended?
Who has gathered the wind in His fists?
Who has wrapped the waters in His garment?
Who has established all the ends of the earth?
What is His name or His son's name?
Surely you know! 1

And He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" 2

Who is the King of glory? The L-RD strong and mighty, The L-RD mighty in battle. 3

And He said to them, " But who do you say that I am?" 4

Who is this King of glory? The L-RD of hosts, He is the King of glory. 5

Pilate therefore said to Him, "So You are a king?" Yeshua answered, "You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice." Pilate said to Him, "What is truth?" and when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, "I find no guilt in Him. 6

Yeshua said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me. 7

And He continued by questioning them, "But who do you say that I am?" 8

"I am the good shepherd; and I know My own, and My own know Me, even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep." 9

Like a shepherd He will tend His flock, in His arm He will gather the lambs, and carry them in His bosom; He will gently lead the nursing ewes. Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, and marked off the heavens by the span, and calculated the dust of the earth by the measure, and weighed the mountains in a balance, and the hills in a pair of scales?

And He continued by questioning them, "But who do you say that I am?" 10

"I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins." 11

And those who were reclining at the table with Him began to say to themselves, "Who is this man who even forgives sins?" 12

And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this man who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but G-d alone?" 13

"I said therefore to you, that you shall die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you shall die in your sins."

And so they were saying to Him, "Who are You?" Yeshua said to them, "What have I been saying to you from the beginning? 14

Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is He who sits above the vault of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, who stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. He it is who reduces rulers to nothing, Who makes the judges of the earth meaningless. Scarcely have they been planted, scarcely have they been sown, scarcely has their stock taken root in the earth, but He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the storm carries them away like stubble. "To whom then will you liken Me that I should be his equal?" says the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these stars , the One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power not one of them is missing. 15

And He continued by questioning them, "But who do you say that I am?" 16

"I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. 17

"I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it, that it may bear more fruit." 18

"I am the light of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life." 19

And they were fearful and amazed, saying to one another, "Who then is this, that He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him?" 20

He is your praise and He is your G-d, who has done these great and awesome things for you which your eyes have seen. 21

"It is I who made the earth, and created man upon it. I stretched out the heavens with My hands, and I ordained all their host. 22

The One who builds His upper chambers in the heavens, and has founded His vaulted dome over the earth, He who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out on the face of the earth, The L-RD is His name. 23

And when He had entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, "Who is this?" 24

"The L-RD, the L-RD G-d, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations." 25

And He continued by questioning them, "But who do you say that I am?" 26

The multitude therefore answered Him, "We have heard out of the Law that the Messiah is to remain forever; and how can You say, 'The Son of Man must be lifted up'? Who is this Son of Man?" 27

"But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of G-d." And they all said, "Are You the Son of G-d, then?" And He said to them, "Yes, I am." And they said, "What further need do we have of testimony? For we have heard it ourselves from His own mouth." 28

"I am He who bears witness of Myself, and the Father who sent Me bears witness of Me." 29

"This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!" 30

And He continued by questioning them, "But who do you say that I am?" 31

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city." 32

"Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy; I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly." 33

"I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" 34

He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming quickly." Amen. Come, L-RD Yeshua. 35

"But who do you say that I am?" 36

And Peter answered and said, "Thou art the Mashiach (Messiah), the Son of the Living G-d." 37

"But who do you say that I am?" 38
