Mirror Lake Walgreens to close on May 29

The Walgreen's drug store at 9591 Conners Road in the Mirror Lake communty will close on May 29, according to James W. Graham, corporate media relations.

Walgreens has operated this store for seven years and the decision to close it was not an easy one, Graham said in an email. "Please be assured that the community and region will remain well served by Walgreens."

Prescription files will automatically transfer to the Walgreens store about five minutes or 3.5 miles drive away at Highway 61 and U.S. 78 (Bankhead), in Villa Rica. Customers need take no action; the transfer is automatic. "Our team at that store looks forward to serving them," he said.

"We expect to place the majority of that store’s employees in jobs at other area stores," Graham said.

The closest 24 hour store is 13 miles away at Fairburn (Hwy 92) & Durlee in Douglasville.

"We will continue to be the strong community partner and supporter that Villa Rica and other communities in the region have known us to be," Graham said. "We have another store about nine miles away at Hwy 5 (Bill Arp Blvd.) and Douglas in Douglasville and five other stores within about 15 miles of the store in Douglasville, Dallas, Bremen, Carrollton."
